In 1988, plans were laid to expand the original company into Kentucky and the southeast with a new corporation, and new owners. Advanced Industrial Products, Inc. headquarters were located in Lexington, Kentucky. The business took on a new direction with factory automation and robotics, venturing into several major lines of products covering a wide range of electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics to serve a expanding base of customers. With the addition of electrical engineers, technical sales staff, project managers, and industry professionals, AIP has grown to be a regional leader in serving a diverse customer base. As the multiple award winning tier 1 supplier to major automotive plants, the automotive part suppliers, and a wide range of other industries.
The current owner Melissa A. Steinnagel,joined the company early in 2006 and being a consummate business woman, introduced AIP to new markets. Her successful purchase of AIP last year, resulted in even greater growth than previously forecast. Sales are expected to increase 40% over 2011. She is also focusing on selling the hard to get cutting and drilling tools used by locksmiths in a world that is constantly demanding a better, safer product. The company currently is preparing a business plan to expand its business out to Williston North Dakota. AIP identified a tremendous opportunity to sell drilling and cutting equipment and tools to the Oil and Gas Drilling companys.
