Company Background

Arbor Consulting, Inc. was founded in 1998 by George Tactikos, a former Chief Of Technical Services for the NYCDPR, and an ISA Certified Arborist.

In 1999, we were awarded our first two NYCDDC contracts, which enabled us to expand our company ranks.

Thus, Arbor Consulting, Inc. was born.

By 2003, Arbor Consulting, Inc. was involved in construction projects with the NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCSCA, NYCEDC and the Port Authority of NY & NJ. We had work in all five boroughs.

NYC Contracts

-Arbor will review the job plans and complete surveys of all trees on awarded contract.
-File Applications for any/all necessary permits for tree removals/pruning/plantings prior to commencement of construction.
-Oversee all tree work (removal, pruning and transplantation).
-Oversee and direct all excavations around city trees during construction.
-Assess damage/s caused to existing trees by construction equipment and recommend alternatives to the EIC in order to minimize damage.
-Oversee tree planting.
-File Weekly Reports with NYCDPR.

Primary Responsibilites include but are not limited to: Conducting and Preparing Pre Construction Tree Impact Surveys to include tree species, caliper, condition and work recommendations near city owned trees. Duties will also include creating tree protection plans, overseeing construction, monitoring tree pruning, removal and planting. Daily reports must be completed via company network. Weekly status updates must be reported to the main office for NYCDPR and city field offices.

Private Work:

Private Work Arbor Consulting, Inc. provides services for private construction work. We work with Developers, Plumbers, and Private Homeowners helping them obtain permits which will allow them to work without receiving violations. If you are installing new sidewalk, or new utilities within the five borughs, NYCDPR may require the services of an arborist to apply for permits and to monitor the work. They will require a report indicating the work was done properly. A link to the NYCDPR Utility Protocol is below for your reference.
