Bar Harbor Oceanside KOA is the only campground on the west side of the island, so pull up a camp chair & watch the pastel sunset spread across the horizon from your waterfront site or sunset patio. Update as of 9/26/2020: Acadia National Park will require a "Car Pass/Reservation" to drive the Loop Rd or to the top of Cadillac Mountain effective October 1, 2020. Update: as of 9/23/2020: We are excited to announce we will be opening for camping season on Friday, May 22nd. The opening will be in phases and we are able to welcome Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Vermont residents during this time. Out of state campers are asked to abide by the 14-day quarantine timeline while enjoying your self-contained camper. Acadia National Park will be opening in June as well, so there will be plenty of areas for the family to enjoy. 5,316,000 Lobsters are eaten in Bar Harbor every year. Shouldn't one of them be yours? We think so and so does Dakota the Lobster Dude... serving them up 7 nights a week. Learn how to "Eat Like a Local" steamed not boiled of course. Or pick fresh Mussels fresh from the shore. Steam them up with a little bit of garlic and Atlantic Brewery's Stout and dipped in butter. Yum! Recipes and steam pots are available at the store. When it's time to explore the island, jump on the free shuttle from Bar Harbor KOA campground directly to Acadia National Park. When you get back to camp the fun doesn't end there. Join us for the planned activities for the young and the young at heart.
