In 1978, the Dahlgren family began Craftsman Label in a 3,000 square foot building with a single three-color press. Just six years later, the plant relocated to a 7,500 square foot building operating five presses. By 1991, Craftsman Label moved to its current location of 17,500 sq. ft. with six presses in operation. A thermal department was then added to provide a complete turnkey solution for our customers.
Ownership changed in 2002 when Marv Wolfson purchased Craftsman. Since that time, we have invested heavily in new equipment and services, including the acquisition of Apex Label and Systems, a custom label converter, in 2008. Merging facilities and adding four more presses, we now occupy a 22,500 sq. ft. building and run multiple production shifts, increasing our capacity and types of labels we print.
In the past 30+ years we’ve grown from a small Pacific Northwest label company to a full-service, custom label converter with clients across the US, Canada and overseas, but remain locally owned. Though we have seen tremendous changes in the packaging industry and have adapted our personnel and services to better serve the evolving needs of our clients, one thing hasn’t changed: our ability to deliver Intelligent Printing, Inspiring Results.
