Established in 1992, South Georgia Medicine, P.C. (SGM) is the principle medical office, located in the same building as Tifton Endoscopy Center, Inc. Patients are usually seen here as self-referrals or consultations from their primary physicians for gastrointestinal related problems.

A medical record will be created and an individualized plan formulated to evaluate your particular problems or symptoms. If you were referred, the plan for workup and treatment will be communicated to you and your referring physician.

Tifton Endoscopy Center, Inc. (TEC) is a separate business, housed in the same office building as South Georgia Medicine, P.C. TEC is an outpatient ambulatory surgical center designed solely for the provision of outpatient gastrointestinal endoscopy.

It is TiftonÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚Â¢s first fully accredited facility by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (A.A.A.H.C.). This gives major cost savings and convenience to our patients.

TEC bills separately for the use of the facility and its associated overhead (rent, state-of-the-art equipment, sedatives, personnel, utilities, etc.)

An EGD (EsophagoGastroDuodenoscopy) is a procedure that enables your physician to examine the lining of the upper part of your gastrointestinal tract ( i.e. the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum) using a thin flexible tube.

A Colonoscopy is a procedure that enables your physician to examine the lining of the colon (large intestine) by inserting a flexible tube and advancing slowly around the colon.

The Flexible Sigmoidoscopy is a procedure that enables your physician to examine the lining of the rectum and lower colon (large bowel) by inserting a flexible tube and advancing under direct vision into the colon.
