In 2004, Georgia Rigging was founded from another much smaller company called Shelton & Sons. As business for Shelton & Sons unexpectedly progressed, John Shelton asked longtime friend Charlie Colville to partake in a vision he had for a rigging and machinery moving company in a strong Southeast market. So in January 2004, Georgia Rigging was formed to help better serve and expand Shelton & Sons clientele.

With only a medium duty truck, a 6 ton trailer, some tools, a 5,000 pound capacity forklift, and the purchase of our first (1973 P&H) 30 ton crane; we relocated from Grantville, Georgia to our present location of Palmetto, Georgia where we could offer a larger indoor and outdoor storage facility and a larger fabrication shop.

As the first years passed we purchased a tandem axle rollback truck, a 28 ton boom truck, and a 50 ton truck crane among other purchases that we have added to our fleet to better serve our customers.

Today, Georgia Rigging offers crane services ranging from 5 tons to 70 tons, machinery movers and equipment capable of moving almost anything, specialized rigging equipment to perform the most demanding jobs, and transportation needs from the basic "hot shot" services to 50 ton RGN/Lowboy services.

As the needs of our customers grow so do Georgia Rigging and their desire to better serve them. We appreciate the fact that customers from all over the Southeast and various locations across the United Stated has entrusted Georgia Rigging to handle their equipment moving needs.
