Great Lakes Geomatics is The Leading Provider of Land Survey and Laser Scanning Services to Commercial Clients throughout Southeast Michigan and the Great Lakes Region.
Great Lakes Geomatics employees have over 20 years of Land Surveying experience in the City of Detroit. GLG employees supplied the lead construction layout services for Ford Field, Comerica Park, and the 285 million dollar improvement project at Waterworks Park. GLG field staff also provided construction survey services for the MGM Grand Casino and the Greektown Casino, and has worked on the design surveys and construction layout for over 3,000 ADA ramps in the City of Detroit. GLG employees provided ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys to the Detroit 300 Conservancy for five city blocks in the downtown area including Campus Martius Park. GLG has over six years experience in providing laser scanning services, which includes the laser scanning of 3.4 miles of Woodward Avenue for the proposed M-1 Light Rail System. GLG employees provided all the design survey work for the recently completed MDOT Gateway project.
Great Lakes Geomatics has significant national and international project experience. GLG has provided laser scanning services for automotive, industrial, engineering, and public utility clients across the United States, including various manufacturing facilities of GM, Chrysler, and Toyota; Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico; and Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station in Pennsylvania. GLG has also provided laser scanning for historical preservation projects sponsored by CyArk on Easter Island and at Chichen Itza in Mexico, among others.
GLG was created by a purchase of the land surveying and laser scanning assets of METCO Services, Inc. in December 2010, and has offices in the L.B. King Building in Downtown Detroit. GLG has extensive experience working with many City of Detroit Departments including Department of Public Works, Survey Bureau, Engineering, Traffic, Buildings and Safety, Downtown Building Authority, Economic Growth, Assessor's Office, and others. GLG owns four different laser scanners and can deploy the most efficient scanner for each specific job. GLG has the ability to provide up to 5 field crews, and the GLG office staff works with the latest versions of CADD and laser scanning software.
