The best things in life are often simple. That's true for the best lifesaving AED technology as well.
HeartSine(R) is the pioneer of clinically advanced automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for the workplace, public access and home markets. In fact, every AED in use today can trace its roots to technology envisioned and developed by HeartSine technologists.
Certainly, we take pride as the only manufacturer of automated external defibrillators whose roots date back to the development of the world's first truly portable, battery-operated defibrillator. It's a record of innovation unmatched in our industry.
But we didn't stop there.
Today, we remain extremely vigilant and continue to invent clinically advanced AED technology designed for use by rescuers of all skill levels. At HeartSine, our innovation changes lives. And saves lives.
It's lifesaving, pure and simple.
Our Company
HeartSine(R) was founded in 1998 to continue innovative development of advanced lifesaving products for the treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Our passion to innovate began in 1967, when we invented the first mobile defibrillator and changed the way the world delivered emergency care. In the years since, HeartSine has continued its passion to innovate by advancing mobile defibrillation and lifesaving technology.
By providing technologically advanced, easy-to-use, affordable AEDs for home and public access markets, HeartSine continues to provide medical devices that save lives.
Our flagship product, the samaritan(R) PAD (Public Access Defibrillator) designed for use by rescuers of all skill levels, has been deployed in thousands of facilities. HeartSine AED products are currently available in 23 languages and are saving lives in more than 40 countries.

Research and Development
HeartSine's technology and innovation is based on a proven history of development in the field of cardiac defibrillation that began in the 1960s. Our R&D is spearheaded by an impressive team of technology experts and renowned luminaries in the industry.
Also steering our research is a leading authority in the field of clinical cardiac research and medical oversight, Dr. Jennifer Adgey. Professor Adgey, a well-known and respected authority in the field of clinical cardiac research, chairs HeartSine Technology's Medical Advisory Board.
In addition, we established R&D activities in Northern Ireland and initiated a formal collaboration with the University of Ulster's Bioengineering Center (NIBEC) and its partner, the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH), a local teaching and research hospital, to augment and enhance our in-house development activities.
