Founded in 1998 by Jeff Roessner, JR Manufacturing was first known as a producer of seamless citronella buckets for home and garden use. In 1999, Jeff and his brother Roger reacted to a local automotive seat manufacturer's need for a high quality and reliable supplier of formed seat wires. Proving quickly that they could produce even the most difficult wires, JR Manufacturing quickly moved into making not only individual wires but also the rear seat cushion frame and armrest frame for the Honda Accord. The decision was soon made to design and build their own dedicated air formers to produce future wires. By 2000, JR Manufacturing had outgrown its original location and built a brand new 40, 000 square foot manufacturing facility to help produce the new products it would be producing. Part of these new products included JR's first solid rod headrest pillars. Over the next two years JR Manufacturing added tubing headrest pillars, larger sized tubing based seat frames, additional robotic welding capability and wire CNC capability to its ever expanding manufacturing capabilities. They were now producing a variety of welded seat frames, armrest frames, headrests, individual formed wires, cut-to-length wires, formed tubes and assembled products. To accommodate the now 50+ employees, new offices and new machine build space was added to the production facility as well as an in-house daycare facility for employees' children and other local children. The citronella bucket line was discontinued to concentrate on the seat component business as well. In 2003, JR Manufacturing continued to grow as it was sold to the LeFevre family to allow Jeff to focus on personal interests. In that year, JR Manufacturing purchased its first two automated headrest lines capable of taking cut length tubes from raw material to plating-ready at a rate of 300 pieces per hour. A second 12, 000 square foot facility was added to be able to accept new projects quickly. Warehousing and packaging space was added and an additional 40, 000 square foot facility was secured to allow for future expansion. In 2004, four-slide production and additional CNC capability is planned to further enhance JR Manufacturing's capabilities and offerings
