Company Summary

The Krause Ranch has been in the Family since it was settled in the 1840's.



In 1918 Gus Krause, Jr. served in the U.S. Army during World War I. On returning from the service he purchased the ranch from his parents.



The Krause family primarily made their living farming and ranching.



In 1950 Gus Krause, Jr. and Sons bought their first Caterpillar D8 Bulldozer to clean brush and build stock ponds on the ranch.



1951 Lawrence Krause was inducted into the US Army and served over sea in the Korean War.



After returning from the service LD Krause had the opportunity to do site Investigation for the US Army Corp of Engineers working on the Canyon Lake Dam Site.



In 1963 L. D. Krause Family bid and was awarded their first USDA Flood Retarding Structure Contract in Comal County, Texas. The family continued Bidding and Building Flood Control Dams for 13 years, building 18 different structures in Central Texas.



In 1975 L.D. Krause Construction Company and L.D. Krause Equipment Company were incorporated in the State of Texas.

Since that time the L.D. Krause Construction Company has diversified building dams, County Subdivision Roads, State Highways, Limestone Rock crushing and other private earth moving projects.
