CORE COMPETENCIES
With over 20 years of suffering from chronic psoriasis with no relief from prescribed and OTC remedies, I finally realized I may be allergic to the chemicals I applied to my scalp every 6 to 8 week (like most African American women). At that moment— in 2007—I decided to stop chemically straightening my hair but the trend of “going natural” had not yet begun. It was impossible to find hair styling tools designed to accommodate the thickness and texture of my natural hair. The existing rubber and elastic bands tug and rip hair causing pain each time they’re worn and removed. My solution—to invent a styling tool, not only for my texture hair but a tool to be utilized by all individuals with curly hair. Identifying this opportunity gap, PuffCuff Hair Clamp: the only hair clamp for thick, curly, textured hair was born in 2013. Our strategic intent is to develop strong brand recognition, create solid product strategy and achieve long-term global leadership by providing hair styling tools designed specifically for those with curly and textured hair—a growing market segment the beauty industry has paid little to no attention.
COMPANY PROFILE
PuffCuff LLC was founded in Romeoville, IL in August of 2013. The company moved to Marietta, GA in June of 2014. PuffCuff Hair Clamp is manufactured in the USA and mainly retailed on online, via our website, Amazon and eBay. Manufacturing, marketing (both traditional and social), accounting, bookkeeping, web development and legal services are all out-sourced to other seasoned and well qualified US-based small businesses.
COMPANY PRINCIPAL
Ceata Lash has over 20 years experience as a Graphic Artist in the Marketing Communications filed. She is a mother of 3 handsome boys and wife to company COO, Garrett Lash. After transitioning from relaxed to natural hair in 2007, Ceata discovered it was impossible to find accessories that could accommodate the thickness and texture of her hair. Most accessories on the market are designed for straight or fine hair types. Those products cinch, damage, pull hair and cause pain and there was no alternative.
DIFFERENTIATORS
• Outward pressure from hair density act upon clamp to keep it closed rather than clamp cinch hair to the smallest point of resistance thus putting pressure and tension hair and head.
• Concave design matching head shape for comfortable fit. Short teeth designed lock into texture hair to hold clamp in place. NOT to glide through the hair like a comb or banana clip
• HOW TO USE: Gather hair with hands as if making a ponytail. Insert teeth of PuffCuff into hair. Repeat on opposite side. Hook closed. Release and fluff hair to get maximum puff.
