War veteran Cecil Wallace Parker took a job with Commercial Induction Heat Treating in 1959. This gave him the idea of a black oxide company in Dayton. In 1973 he made his dream a reality and Rite-Way Black & Deburr was born.
The company flourished under Cecil for 34 years. In his last year he was stricken with cancer, and he put his children in charge of the company. He passed away January 22, 2007, and the company was transferred to his children Diana & James. James Parker passed away September, 2008, leaving the operation of the company to his sister Diane, who still runs it today, along with her husband Mike Spencer.
While alive, Cecil helped start Winston Heat Treating, and when Rite-Way was located on Crane Avenue Certified Heat Treat started there as well. Bill Webb of Certified was a good friend of Cecil's, as they had known each other since their days working at Commercial Induction Heat Treat.
Cecil Parker made a large impact on the metal finishing industry in the Dayton, Ohio area, Rite-Way is his legacy.
