Frank Warner Riepe's Building Arts studio has specialized in custom residential architecture since 1985. Prior to that time he practiced civic and commercial architecture with major Boston-area architectural firms specializing in restoration, transportation facilities, multi-family housing and restaurants. Frank holds a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University. A registered architect in Massachusetts, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects, Boston Society of Architects, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. He has received national recognition through competitions and publications. In the Town of Sudbury, Frank served for twenty years as a member of the Design Review Board and is currently a member of the Historic Districts Commission and the Sudbury Center Improvement Advisory Committee. He was a founding member of the Sudbury Village Project and served as a member of the building committee for the Goodnow Library and the designer selection committee for the Sudbury Housing Authority. Around New England, the work of Building Arts includes new homes as well as additions and remodeling, where the success of each project is revealed in the details of design and service. The practice of architecture is both an art and a craft in the service of individual clients and the community. Each project is a unique effort founded on an ever broadening experience and ever deepening insights with services tailored to the needs of the client. In each project it is essential that certain issues be explored and satisfied: site, context and integration.
